Starting to feel a bit better and looking forward to the weekend. I've been throwing all my coping strategies at my anxiety and finally it's beginning to fade a bit. When it's bad, it feels a lot like having headphones on that are playing a constant, grating squeal that rises and falls randomly in pitch and volume. Think about how distracting that would be, trying to interact and make day-to-day decisions while "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER" was constantly blaring in your ears. I've lived with an experience like that for 30 years, along with seasonal depression. Drugs didn't help and at one point really hurt, and counseling merely helped me learn to live with this psychic mess.
