POV Preview: December 2020 Expanimation (Patreon)

The Expanimation is rendering for the $10+ tiers, and here's a low-res preview of a POV camera angle for all my Patrons. The clip will be done by Boxing Day (Dec. 26), at the latest.

The new Z600 is rendering so quietly compared to the 3130MT twins! It generates about the same amount of heat, enough that I can turn off the baseboard heater in my bedroom and still be comfortable overnight in December. 

Rendering animation on a 3130MT with a GTX 1080 card heats a room and sounds like a minimalist noise piece performed with a pair of mismatched hair dryers. One dryer (actually 2 case fans) drones on constantly while the other (the GPU fan) pulses from low to high pitch with every frame. Up to 1,350 3-minute cycles (for a 45-second sequence). Happy to have moved on from that experience.
