if there's one thing certain about your mother, it's that she deeply cares about her subjects from drones to proto-queens. She never told you how her failure in Canterlot affected her, but you heard some older changelings saying that she now understand ponies as a strong threat for her people and if she had a second chance, would probably use it with peace in mind instead of war.

Your mother cares very deeply for the Changelings, occasionally going several days without food simply to make sure a few changelings get just a little extra. Her attack on the capital was out of desperation, not malice, and she sometimes cries over all the trouble she caused because of it.

Your Mom takes her job as Queen seriously; she always tries to do what is best for her subjects. You know she... did some very bad things in Equestria to try and help her people. You remember her saying once that she regrets that she couldn't find another way to feed her people, but she doesn't regret doing what she did; she could never have any regrets about doing everything in her power to help those under her care. Most of all, though, you know that your mother loves you, and you love her back.

She was a carrying ruler. She only invaded Equestria for she had little to no choice left. Every other nation that the Changelings had tried to enter to feed always treated them as monsters when all they wanted was to feed off love. It wasn't like they captured or truly ate ponies, but it was the common steroetype that the Changelings had never been able to shake. For fear of the same response, your mother decided to take a more aggressive approach, better to be ready for a fight than not. But after their defeat at the wedding, Chrysalis has shut herself away, refusing to feed for days at a time for she cannot bear the shame of failing her subjects again.
