Ask Twiligt this... when you had to decide between dying from starve or fighting for/stealing food... there is a choice? Because there is no other choise... diplomacy? When every creature hates you and wants your death? No... this is not possible. You became bad guy because other choice is death. Also you could say if she want to get rid of you the ask for fast death. This will be mercy from slowly painfull death.
