take out your map and look where You are now and see if there is any signs on the map to show if there is a path over the canyon. if it doesn't show walk along the canyon to see if you can see any fallen trees that can help You crossing the canyon.

The wind seems a bit strong to risk flying. Walk along the side of the canyon to find a narrow spot to either glide across or use a makeshift log bridge.

Thinking back to your map discussion with Braeburn, there seemed to be only one large canyon on the map of the Everfree, so you are at least on the right track. The winds seem to be pretty strong, and you don't have a lot of experience with fighting heavy winds, or even strong breezes. Looking to the right along the cliff face, there seems to be a fallen tree that might cross the canyon, heading that direction should at least let you see if you do have a possible way to cross the obstacle to your travel. Also, the ruins are supposed to be somewhere near the edge of the same canyon, maybe you can see them if you can get out towards the middle of the span. An extra navigation mark never hurts, after all.
