Announcements (Magpie Wizard Book 2 Final Draft + Book 3 + New Series Announcement) (Patreon)
Content
Hi all, I have some exciting announcements!
Firstly, I have been working on editing and expanding Book 2, based on feedback I have received from patrons and from editors and beta readers. I expect to have the Patron Exclusive PDF and ePub version up for you by around August 15th. On future books, that will be a perk available to Magpie Mage and higher tiers. However, this time around, I'll be making it available to all patrons. This is as an apology for my accidental early release onto Amazon requiring that I take the Book 1 download so early, and a thank you for your continued support. This version has some extended scenes and some modifications to parts of the book that I thought could be stronger in the final draft. I expect we will be launching on Amazon on October 1st, at which point the that perk will be pulled from the Patreon.
Book 3 has a title now: Dissolution! It is currently in the planning and outline phases, and I will be spending August making sure the ending to the first trilogy of the planned larger story of Captain Malthus' life is as good on the first draft as I can make it. Chapters will begin posting on September 5th.
And that brings us to the last announcement. I'll be starting a new series in August! I've teamed up with my long time friend Jesse Alonso (aka Burkion) to plan out a new Isekai style adventure story, Tales from the Patchwork Earth: Jewel of the Oasis.
The year is 1865. The last days of the Samurai approach, and the wild west is becoming fenced in. Goto Matsukata and Bose King are two of the last of their kind who, following a cataclysmic earthquake, find themselves transported to a strange world, inhabited by relics of past ages. Dinosaurs, Neo-Romans, pirates, sentient land dolphins and more await them on... Patchwork Earth!
The first book will be a Patreon exclusive until I finish posting the first draft. This won't interfere with Magpie Wizard Book 3's release. It's a different series in a different style, and I have a co-author helping me with the planning and editing. It's me stretching my writing legs a little bit while I get Book 2 of Magpie Wizard finalized and ready to publish.
I'll post the first chapters of that series on August 1st, and it will follow the normal Magpie Wizard release schedule of Saturday chapters. Once Magpie Wizard resumes, I'll find a new day of the week for it.
