I'm running into issues with downloading the newest update. Every time I save the file and try to open it, it just relinks me back to the download option.

It sounds like you've downloaded the file, but you're running into the same problem I have recently: some browsers don't like opening swf files on their own anymore! You can use the standalone flash player program, though, and that should always work. Plus it's better for stuff like running in full screen!
