Recorded 2018-2020, I embarked on this project to keep myself busy  during the first year of lockdown brought on by the coronavirus  pandemic. With all this newfound time, I wanted to really push myself  out of my comfort zone creatively. I ended up diving headfirst into the  world of sound design and synthesis and engineering. Although decidedly a  new direction sonically, this project also marks a return to my roots  in another way, by pulling inspiration from the mashcore, breakcore, and  internet music I used to listen to at age 16. Having to rely on the  internet solely for social interaction, a number of these songs were  written in part or wholly during twitch livestreams in the middle of the  night. These have been paired with some other miscellaneous odds and  ends from 2018 and 2019, resulting in a multi-genre journey through  teenage nostalgia, trauma processing, and complete isolation. This is  The Dawn of The Dachshund.
