 WEEKLY UPDATE

-Hi everyone just keeping you all up to date on what is going on with the upcoming vids. This one is going to be a super short one but with lots of pictures. I didn't get much done on the upcoming vids so I decided to address some of the questions that I received last update. 

-WHY DON'T YOU USE LONGER HAIR?

-With the longer hairs in the game, clipping of the hair becomes a major issue. The hair is supposed to go around the body while working with the character weights that are applied to the character model in the game. For some reason once the hair gets past shoulder length, the hair does not flow around the body. I'm assuming that the hair model physics cannot read the clothing models weights in this game. ( Weights are what tells the game where the clothes and or hair can stick to or go around)

-ANOTHER ANGLE

-HAIR ISSUES

-Wiry / Plastic Hair issues almost have been solved. I have narrowed the hair issues down to the shadow effects in the game. It causes the hair to become one solid color instead of the stranded hair textures that are for the hair. 

-EXAMPLE OF A STRAND HAIR TEXUTRE:

-WHAT IT SHOULD TRANSLATE TO THE HAIR MODEL IN GAME:

 -INITIAL RESULTS 

-AFTER MESSING WITH SHADOWS AND DIFFUSION 

-IS THAT MUD or....MUD?

-This is supposed to be a worm monster that was covered in mud not the rear end kind lol. But without wording or context I definitely can see how that can be seen especially if the location is not said (underground storm drain, not sewers). I decided to tone down the texture so there will be less confusion. I may give it some muscles later on...

-MORE CLAY LIKE SETTINGS

LOL yeah just didn't want any confusion when I finish this extended test. I did this though to show that I really do want to implement these ideas it's just that it isn't possible yet :(

Yes, yes it is. I have to remember at sometimes that it's not going to be 100 percent real and to move on.

I appreciate the explanations as to what's changing, and how/why it is or isn't. The long hair wasn't something I was really thinking about until you showcased the issue here, which does kinda suck in terms of model variation possibilities.

Thanks csblee. Pretty much top of the back is where the issues start with hairs. I've been working on clothing for the game and that is where the weights stop for hair.

Next up: Love Wolf incorporates Nvidia HairWorks. :lul: Also as a side note, Did you ever think of doing a Short about Sadoko? The grill from the Waterwell (aka. "The Ring")? I'd be very interested to explore that idea. :)

The hair in the game that I use is Nvidia Hairworks. 😀 The Hook 5 project has really turned this game into an amazing game. I'll have to show you all what it looks like normally. The first Night of the Ghouls hints at the ring with the TV texture. I just need to do the female on Male version.

I’m perfectly fine with shorter hair. Shoulder length is perfectly fine with me

Thanks Ryan Schmidt. I like a good bob cut too but if I had some lower back length hair in the game that a could use that would be great... something nice to grab onto 😏

I think what you have here is great hair after a time being messed up by being abused for a while. I can see what you are trying to achieve for hair styling for the start.
