I am reaching out to you today as a fellow patron of Michael King (the King of Average) and as a member of the wider board gaming community. As one of Michael’s patrons I believe I speak for the rest of us when I say we truly value his unique perspective and honest approach when it comes to reviewing board games. As a board gamer he gives his two cents without many biases that helps give us viewers the ability to make far more informed decisions when it comes to supporting a kickstarter project. For Michael to do what he does he has made it a core measure to not accept financial support from those games/companies he reviews to remain as honest as he can when providing us with his opinions. I cannot express to you enough how much we appreciate his approach and his long hours spent researching, filming, and editing his videos (and the many hours of sleep lost as a result), not to mention his daily presence fostering a warm, welcoming, and helpful discord/facebook community. All while maintaining a full-time job and raising a family with 4 children!

Some of us patrons would love to do something exciting this holiday season in an effort to give back and surprise Michael as a thank you for all of his hard work. We are organizing a Go Fund Me page where we can make donations to Michael where those who donate will also have the opportunity to win some fantastic thank you grand-prizes, if they are fortunate enough to be one of the first names drawn, as well as games from a larger thank you prize pool. Many of us patrons are donating cherished games from our collections to include in the event, some of these include fully or partially painted games while some are kickstarters recently delivered and still in the shrink wrap!

Patrons and the greater board gaming community as a whole will be given the opportunity to donate certain tiered amounts, if donating more that will lead to your name being entered more often for the chance to win one of these amazing thank you gifts. All funds raised because of the Go Fund Me will be given to Michael and his family as a thank you for all of his hard work and to encourage him to continue making such informative videos! This is a unique opportunity for YOU, a patron of Michael’s, to give back via donations in the form of a board game that we can award as a prize and any/all donations you can make by donating to the Go Fund Me for Michael once launched, or by doing BOTH (donating a game and donating to the Go Fund Me). We would appreciate any and all donations you are able to make.

Once the grand-prizes have been won (to include brand new games donated by companies), participants in the Go Fund Me donations will continue to be drawn and afforded the opportunity to win one of the games generously donated by some of Michael’s patrons. Winners in the event will be responsible for paying for the shipping of their prizes given that they are being donated by us patrons. We are still currently in the planning phase of our project and are seeking pledges from those patrons and companies who would like to support this effort. Please let us know if you can pledge to donate a game to our cause!   On behalf of all of Michael’s patrons I would like to thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
