I cant wait till Mollymawk comes back. Would she spill the beans about Ray? Would that be proof enough that the Tide didnt know all, or could that still be spun into the Tide still punishing Tusk specifically bc of the no-fins thing, not the bonecruncher thing? Either way poor Tusk. I hope she makes it out ;-;

I doubt it'll make a difference. Whether Tusk ate Ray or buried him, she "denied him his fins," which is what she's being convicted of. The only thing that would happen if Mollymawk spills now is that she's likely to be punished as well. (I do wonder how bloodthirsty Gull will be when it's her own granddaughter. Hm.....) I do hope she comes back soon, because I can't see her just standing by while Tusk is treated like this. Also, I wonder where the other Daisies are. There have to be others who are against this.

I think it's interesting even the cats willing to shove her and call for blood are doing so without claws- are they forbidden from spilling her blood, even now?

Super interesting observation, nice catch! I’m honestly surprised they aren’t cutting her like Thresher in the first pages to attract the sharks. Maybe that’ll be the next page, or perhaps since it’s solely banishment they can’t spill her blood, as you guessed
