Try using Command spell to make demon listen to you forever?

Since it is unlikely Lvl 1 spells will fare well against a demon, Quintus should use Mage Hand (empowered if he has to overcome weight limits) to lift the logs of his master and block the Demon's exit. Whit a bit of luck, this will delay her long enough that the master can get a shot at her.

Use empowered (magic hand|firebolt depending on which has higher prob of success) to disrupt the magic circle.

Firebolt the demon to distract it, then Mage Hand(empowered) to grab the book then Command:Lift directed at the fallen timbers.

Command the Demon to release the Book and using Mage Hand bring the book to you, use Firebolt to distract the demon and run to try and release your magister. But of course he could step unknowingly into the glowing symbol, entrapping him on his way.

Fire bolt to distract the demon, Spell boost mage hand to grab the book, help magister but only if possible. You will have his book after all that's got a lot of knowledge in it, do you need the magister?

Try to bind the demon to an item or a weapon using a Prison spell. If possible Maximize Spell!

issue a command spell telling the demon to masturbate until orgasm, therefore dropping the book in the process and giving time to escape whilst the demon is preoccupied.

Or ..... Firebolt to destroy the fallen timbers, Mage Hand (empowered) to goose the demon and Command:Retrieve to get the book back.
