January HP Survey Results2023 (Patreon)

Hey all! It is time to both update King of Champions (which will be up momentarily) and close the HP poll. However, I know that at least two people who tried to vote in this poll ran into problems. I want to say now, the only I do is what I do with other posts: make certain that only paid members can see all my posts. I have no idea what could have blocked you, but I would like to know if like Byran Brown anyone wasn’t able to vote. (Synner I didn’t mention you here because your votes did go through eventually)

I would also like to send a laugh and thanks out to Travis G, Geordie66 and Zolkrath. Your endorsements are accepted and much appreciated LOL.

Oh, and Effect of a sword and a Dragon is finished and out to the editor!

And now, without further ado, here is the poll results. And as I mentioned, I will be voting in this poll, 400 for Magic. I recently bought several new audiobooks and found two okayish SW lore youtubers (they both buy in on the whole chosen one schtick too much and their background music is meh, but ehh, I can handle that) and I want to write me some sci-fi.

And yet, despite my votes and scoring first over over on fanfic with 71 votes , Magic of the Force came in last, bringing in only 1675 votes. *SIGH*.

In a somewhat stunning upset, FILFy Teacher came in second, both on fanfic with 68 votes and here with a total of 1728.

And in first place thanks to the carry-over effect of 779, there is Fate Touched in Middle Earth, bringing in 64 votes over on fanfic and a total of 2354. WOOO…

This means that I might be able to write up a second patron only story this month! WOOOOOOO! Hmmm… Making Waves or Heroes of the High Seas…

And for those wondering, no, I won’t work on Magic of the Force. It has a great chance of winning the HP poll outright in February thanks to the carry over effect of 837, and I really want something other than FILFy to win in February. Not because I don’t want to work on it, but because it is a really hard story to estimate how much time I will spend on it, and February is only essentially 25 days due to four days of family time centered around the Super Bowl.

What I might do is post the HP poll for February tomorrow, then close it first rather than the Patron only poll… hmm… I will make a choice on that over the next few days. I prefer to post a Patron story for the Superbowl, but… with Death’s Avenger returning, that makes two stories on the patron only poll that would require me to send them off to an editor, and I don’t know if I would be able to finish the story with enough time left to get it to them, get it back and posted by the 11th.  If Magic wins, I can get it done quickly, because most of it is going to be combat.  Maybe with enough time to send it off to be edited too.
