HP Only August 2022 Patron Poll (Patreon)

Okay people, as I stated, the numbers-only poll is finished. I have to reiterate that this was a numbers-only poll! The majority have spoken! So despite the fact that most of the people who actually made comments on this (thank you HP-DG-AP-PN-RG-NR, Christian Jeffress, Tellemicus Sundance and lostone2) said I should push forward to finish ATP here on Patreon, we will be taking a break this month from a third path for the future. That being said, work will continue on ATP chapter 51, which I note I only have a few people commenting on, and not even many likes. I will probably be adding a few thousand more words to that over today and tomorrow before sending it off to my editor so it isn’t quite a finished product.  

But again, the majority has spoken. There were 342 votes, and 52% of them went for the take a break from a third path option two polls going on here on patron this month.  One Harry Potter, which you will find below, and one Ranma poll which will be up tomorrow. I want to take the time tomorrow and later tonight to go through some of the responses I have gotten with my latest round of questions and double-check my old notes about a journey gone astray before putting it back into a poll.

Both of these polls are weighted as normal!

Now without further ado, here are the choices for my Harry Potter patrons this month:

King of Champions – HP/RWBY crossover: The Beacon inductees continue to partner up, some harmoniously, some not, while Tia continues her journey to find Harry regardless of her new partner following her around and trying to make conversation.  All of the would-be hunters are discovering a lot more Grimm than there really should be with many of them taking to this experience joyfully. However, Ozpin’s use of sound-based technology to move Grimm into this territory has not gone unnoticed, and the distant enemy decides to take part in this initiation ritual. Meanwhile, Harry and Pyrrha continue to move through the forest, more interested in one another’s company than anything else, trying this ‘flirting’ thing on one another, with somewhat mixed results and much laughter. A cave is caved in, and a minor crisis averted, only for the two of them to be at Ground Zero for a far greater one, as Salem’s contribution makes itself known. With disaster looming, Harry takes charge, and the watching Salem and Ozpin both take note. Afterward, combined with everything she has learned about what Harry has been up to, Pyrrha makes a dramatic decision, reciprocated instantly by Harry. Later, teams are formed, with a morose Tia getting two pieces of information that she very much did not want to get as Ozpin begins the process of deciding what kind of piece Harry and the other freshmen are on his board while Salem ruminates.

Bhaalson Remodel – HP/Gamer/Baldur’s Gate Crossover: Rest, recovery, and discussion prove somewhat acrimonious as the reunited group discusses what they have all been up to since their enforced parting. While Imoen, Edwin and Branwen have no issue with Viconia, Jaheira still has reservations, Khalid has distinct issues, Dynaheir has opinions, and Minsc is somewhat confused. With the help of Boo, however, and the fact that Jaheira owes her life and Harry’s to Viconia, peace is kept as Harry urges people to look past Viconia’s race - and admitted worship of Shar and general snark - to the aid that she could be the party, and vice versa. The night is interrupted by a ghoulish visitation aspect on earth, Hermione and her sidekick take a step forward on her plan to find Harry, running into issues both bureaucratic and violent. Doing the adventuring thing takes a few days, after which they turned their feet to Beregost, with Viconia now a member of the party, although there are still issues underneath the surface. In Beregost they are greeted with some well-wishes and deals but alas Harry and company have not been the only people on the move, and a confrontation comes quickly for them to be prepared. While recovering rumors spark quests and welcome knowledge arrives from the south, causing Harry to reconsider his plans going forward.

Deaths Avenger – HP/WoW crossover: A minor confrontation occurs as Harry, thanks to his companion's nose, has discovered a secret that has been tapped for quite a while (read, centuries). That confrontation does not go in the direction either Harry or Ebonhorn would expect and actually ends on an amicable note, with Harry having learned about himself a bit more and Ebonhorn having gained a ‘scary friend’. Soon after, Harry crashes based first into a nether issue with the Shaman training, causing much hilarity for everyone not named Harry Potter. Months stretched into years as Harry continues his education among the Tauren, getting to know the other tribes as he does, dealing with a self-proclaimed rival and getting to know the giant Eagles, who he instantly bonds with, much to the chagrin of Quetzal. This leads to revelations about Harry’s Chimeric-like body, another death, another rebirth, and a permanent change within him. Quetzal finally stops growing, but at a size which necessitates spell work and a baffling moment. Another secret comes out, with Harry meeting a group of night elves who have remained here with the Tauren, as Harry slowly completes his shaman training, older, wiser, and with his desire to travel and explore this new world ramped up to eleven. With that in mind, Harry and Quetzal leave Highmountain behind, eager to explore the rest of this island and beyond.

Hmmm… Here I think I would vote for King of Champions. I hope that in doing so it will spark my Ruby muse, and I can then finish up the Semblance of Hope episode. As it is, between going over ATP 50 and outlining the chapters to come, I haven’t really done much with Semblance, unfortunately. I placed one of the fight scenes and figured out where I wanted the episode to end. Whoopie. So maybe jumpstart that particular muse of mine would work. Then two, I am still a little leery about taking on the world-building necessary for Death’s Avenger.

This poll will actually be the last one to close this month, on the twenty-first. This is to show that this month, the small story winner and then the Ranma winner will be my first and second priorities.

In other news, I am also going over my old Heroes of the High Seas prologue and chapter 1 and will be posting them over on AO3. I haven’t been able to post as many chapters over on fanfic as normal these past few months, and I felt this was a way to address that issue and garner some interest in that story prior to ATP ending - by posting the prologue now, and the next chapter the month before ATP ends. At which point I will bring it back for a vote.

Jake . has also asked me to combine a lot of my fics into single PDF files, a process I had already begun to do with my finished works and which I will follow up on occasionally over the next few days. I will split that off into a separate thread rather than the patron-only collected works to make it clear that those files are the ones that contain the whole fanfiction so far. A part of me wants to go over those chapters that haven’t been given the Grammarly touch previously and do so now, while the rest of me screams in terror at the very idea, LOL.
