2022 May Patron Only Poll (Patreon)

Hello everybody. So… does anyone know how to, you know, reset everything? I’d wager we could get a lot of people in the world together to say let’s just start this year over again. Surely we could do better. Am I right? How about just April? Could we just restar… wait, what time paradox? Another Big Bang you say?... Alright fine, I suppose April can still exist.

Suffice to say this month has been crap but things are finally more manageable in the Real World.  I would like to thank all of you for your well wishes and hope that you continue to enjoy the seeds of my imagination going forward.

Anyway, A Third Path To The Future is off to its editor. King of Champions you should already see posted, and I will be very interested to see what people think of the question I pose at the end of the chapter.

 A Horse for the Force should be done by Friday. I have cut out quite a bit of the side segments out, removed some of the romance portion, and concentrated on the overall plot and a few minor plot points. This hopefully will allow me to push the story past Wayland and… but that would be telling. But it should let me finish it by Friday.

With that said, it is time to announce the patron-only poll for May. Here are the choices:

Bhaalson Remodel – HP/Baldur’s Gate/Gamer: Imoen leads the party the best she can, while talking magic and power with Dynaheir and Edwin, running into problems both bandit and terrain related. One issue of each in particular prove to be particularly troublesome as they attempt to pass through the terrain directly east of Nashkel mines. Meanwhile, Viconia wakes up after the first safe night’s sleep she’s had since coming to the surface, with healing spells at her fingertips and questions galore. Oaths are exchanged along with stories as Harry’s crippled Status and Jaheira’s head wounds are dealt with. The two get to know one another, while Viconia asks some very interesting questions, making Harry wonder exactly how malleable his ‘Blood Magic’ is. With Jaheira now able to be moved, Harry becomes a people carrier, and the trio start to move towards the green arrows, running into mage doing experiments on ooze, while the arrows become dots only for other red dots to pop up out of nowhere.

Semblance of Hope – Ranma/RWBY crossover: Now with their goal in sight, Ranma and team JNPR map out the area, making contact with a scout bullhead after killing more S-class Grimm. With the go-ahead given, they move into the city, killing more S-class Grimm. Forced to flee, the five are then ambushed by Clan Branwen but fight their way free. Cinder and the Hunter Teams come in via airdrop, and the five of them move to support the assault on the city, only to realize quickly that the Grimm are not playing fair, and hordes have been waiting beyond the valley. Clan Branwen attacks once more, further complicating matters, as does the appearance of Hazel and Tyrian. The battle becomes wild and general, as Cinder, faced with this opportunity must decide if her loyalty is to her ambition or Salem, and Ranma finds himself fighting both Grimm, another Maiden, and an assassin who just won’t go away.

Climbing Together – Ranma/Street Fighter/King of Fighters crossover:  Faced with two other young practitioners of Anything Goes, Ranma feels some obligation to them as his kouhai. Who is senior to who is fiercely debated (read: fought over) before Ranma introduces the two sisters to Shampoo and Mai. Shampoo is annoyed, Mai surprised, causing Ranma to soothe ruffled feathers while some more background is exchanged. Plans are argued over, while Ranma and Mai teach the twosome a few things before running into an entirely new group of challengers who are after Kurume for humiliating them. Afterward, Shampoo demands and gets a seaside date, while the girls bond. The group once more set up a camp for the toughness training, hoping this time that Soun will somehow hunt them down. This happens, causing much confusion and amusement as Natsumi and Kurume reveal their heritage and everything that comes with it, before aiding in a monstrous beat down of Weepy and Growly, before wondering what to do next…

Sword, Bow and Horse – Ranma/Lord Marksman and Vanadis crossover: After taking a sabbatical from interacting with other people as only Ranma could, the trans-dimensionally displaced martial artist heads north in search of Lim and Valentina. Arriving on the heels of both winter and a war’s end, Ranma finds Valentina first. A heart-to-heart discussion proves enlightening, while the events after prove arousing, before Lim arrives to interrupt things. A fight ensues until Ranma puts his feet down, whereupon it becomes a free-for-all, with the loser being Valentina’s castle. Elsewhere, a demon in human form begins to spread his influence through Muozinel, which is still reeling at it’s defeat in the war against Brune. While a demon contemplates that, winter goes on. When it breaks, Ranma, annoyed and thoughtful from the weekly bickering, makes his way out to find Sofy, only to learn she is being sent on a mission to Asvarre. Racing to join her, he is barely able to board the ship before it leaves, taking Sofy and Ranma out to a new adventure…

Those were the choices, however, I have decided to follow up on a suggestion that M B mentioned: the idea of taking the votes of one of the stories from the previous month and carrying it over into the next to give it a leg up.  I will do that this month for Semblance of Hope since it came last in April. That means it will have 661 votes right from the start.

Maybe this will allow me to update SOH, and Bhaalson Remodel more regularly. Who knows. Could be worth a try anyway.

And yes, there are three Ranma fics here. Given the fact that I am updating A Third Path to the Future without putting that to a vote, I feel this is fair.

Note: I am going to try this weekend to put up the first chapter of Bhaalson Remodel over on Archive Of Our Own. Of all my stories, it is the one I feel loses a lot when you take into account the way fanfiction strips it of its various fonts and styles. Even when I post it here that happens. Although I might just enhance the font kind of thing to see what people think of it.

When it is up, I’ll announce that here along with the Small Story poll, which will be up on Sunday.
