2022 January Small Story Poll (Patreon)

Hello Everybody. So, with Fate Touched in Middle Earth out now (FWI, corrected Mufilatio to Sonorus over on fanfic, for some reason I have trouble remembering the Sonorus spell, blargh) it is time to post January’s Small Story poll. Remember that there is no large story poll this month, as I am pushing ATP, and that poll is the first to be removed. Next month it will be the small story poll.

THE CHOICES THIS MONTH ARE:

A Fate Touched in Middle Earth – HP/Tolkien Crossover: Grief and slow recovery take over the battlefield, where the only real winners were the worms. A king has fallen, and another must be crowned, forcing the elves to leave with their fallen, although Tauriel remains with a few to aid as they can and create agreements with the dwarves. The dwarves and men mourn in very different ways, while Harry and Gandalf have a discussion on the future, and Bilbo continues his work within Erebor to cleanse the gold within of the dragon’s taint. Drinks abound making fool of human and dwarf, while Harry and Tauriel have a romantic day on top of the mountain while Dain and Thorin make plans. Days pass, and work commences on many projects, with Tauriel taking her leave, but with a promise of traveling together given.

Stallion of the Line – Ranma/One Piece crossover: Lightning strikes Thriller Bark as the gathered Shichibukai realize they have caught a lightning lion by the tail, causing them to scramble. Elsewhere, Sanji remembers and recovers, while a ghostly princess is saved accidentally by a lost swordsman. Chopper is freed as she flees and her remaining zombies go with her. Meanwhile wedding plans go forward, and a slightly recovered Absalom giggles perversely. At the far end of the massive island-ship, Oz-oro finally succumbs to Moria’s control, but his trip back is interrupted by a unwilling tag team of cook and first mate. Chopper finds Makino and Laki, becoming aware of the betrayal among their enemies, while Gecko, Hancock and Kuma try to work together against Ranma. Kuma attempts to retreat entirely but fails, and then attempts to talk his way out of it, which goes… poorly. Back on the island, Absalom’s wedding is interrupted by several forces, a truce is called, and swordsman and Cook fight Oz-oro only to be interrupted in a very bad way before the interrupters are interrupted in turn.

Magic of the Force – SW/HP crossover: The War (as yet unnamed) picks up to an unseen level as the Confederacy launches attacks across the Republic with even larger forces than seen before. The Republic reels, losing several battles and strategic positions, while they build up their war material and fleet elsewhere. Harry and Aayla return into the teeth of a spoiler raid, which goes very poorly for the attackers, but which make previous agreements being discussed all the more important. A few meetings occur while the Confederacy unveils it’s next campaign, a full assault into the Corellian district. No blockade this assault pulls several GDL sector fleets into the conflict, while Harry gives a speech and Padme falls in love all over again. A meeting is planned between several people, Padme and her lovers talk, Sidious plans, and a Jedi dies, as the invasion of Corellia and the surrounding systems gain momentum. At the same time, another campaign is launched in the Republic, it’s goals unknown, but giving Harry and Aayla a very bad feeling indeed, forcing them to make a devil’s choice…

Horse for the Force – SW/Ranma crossover: While Wayland is further reinforced and progress continues to be made breaking the various computers within the mountain, Shaak and Ranma decide to take several of the Blades crew and their two padawans out on a family excursion to the planet’s equator. At Keala’s instigation, she and the other three youngsters try to establish a pecking order, with somewhat astonishing results, and Ranma and Shaak have a bit of husband and wife time in an oddly idyllic area with Janice giving them the time by working all the others into the ground (and threatening them with HK). Elsewhere, Thrawn and Master Fay make contact with the High Council, and Thrawn officially becomes the Jedi’s Fleet Admiral, taking control of some of the allied forces, correctly discerning where a CIS fleet is about to attack and countering it. At the same time, back on Wayland, Master Vos and Obi-Wan talk before Master Saa comes by. A betrayal most foul occurs as Jedi die to one of their own, and Vos attempts to complete his mission…

You all will have noticed that FILFy Teacher is not up here. With my track record I decided that I shouldn’t tempt fate and even think of writing a FILFy Teacher chapter at the same time as a large ATP one. It will be February if an HP story wins this poll this month.

My votes… honestly I want to put them behind Horse for the Force. Buuuut… well, I also like the whole 2:2 HP/Ranma thing, and the patron only poll is so close it’s hard to call. So this month I will let the votes fall where it may. However next month will be different.
