July Large Story Poll (Patreon)

Hello all, sorry that this is coming out a day later than it should be, but here we are, the Large Story Poll for July.

This month, FILFy joins Horse for the force and Magic of the Force. Yes, I know that puts two Harry Potter stories against one Ranma story, but it hasn’t mattered in the past! Not when FILFy is one of the stories.

You all might have noticed by the way that Stallion of the Line is still not up. Tomon still has it, and honestly I think this is a good thing. I kind of neglected several portions of taking care of this story, specifically, looking at the reviews lately, and going back and correcting mistakes and continuing some discussions.  I was really  burnt out from FILFy (the next chapter will be much easier) and RL has been very unpredictable this month.

And frankly, considering that my working on it until I was satisfied with the Smaug vs everyone fight seems to have paid off tremendously going by the reviews, I hope that in waiting for this chapter, you’ll see much the same thing. Especially considering I might be willing to change quite a bit of it if Tomon thinks I should (switching from thinking in terms of world building to non-wb is hard!) In fact, if that goes well, we might see a slight change in how I do things from now on. we’ll see.

So that is what I’ll be doing tomorrow, along with starting to plan out the next Ranma stories that are up for updating. Today I’ve already started to work on the HP stuff.

Anyway, here are the choices:

FILFy Teacher – Highschool DxD/HP:Harry and his oddball band continue to dig into the troubles with Egypt, coming up with a few surprising facts, courtesy of Hermione and Padma. A day of monster squishing (literally in some cases) goes past, while a report comes in indicating a certain spear wielding asshole has been spotted by some of the underworld elements that Phil is in contact with. A very intense discussion follows, as Harry tries to explain the facts of life to a born again moron, and the moron attempts to convince Harry that shit is gold. Night falls and instead of sporadic attacks, the undead and monsters appear throughout all of Egypt, the equivalent of going from a few raindrops to a complete and utter tsunami. Order breaks down immediately throughout Egypt, as elsewhere, the rest of the world’s magical communities are stunned by this sudden uptick save for the International Confederacy of Wizards is induced into an action that while seemingly positive, is also inherently negative for those caught within its sphere. Rias pushes for her friends and allies to respond then talks to a pervert, laying down the law in no uncertain terms. The battle is joined in Alexandria where Harry’s and everyone else’s efforts to prepare payoff hugely, yet they are sorely pressed by the scale of the assault. Harry goes to merge with the river once more and finds the spirits (plural) within waiting for him. A very metaphysical fight starts, followed by a very physical one, which does not go nearly as well for the attackers. Elsewhere, other forces try to instill some order caking all the help they can. Harry shatters the spell blocking him from calling in help and aid instantly arrives, turning the battle within the city turns against the attacker, and Harry and the Egyptians push out, gathering refugees and enlarging the protected zone. Meanwhile, the investigation into who is causing all this continues, with a breakthrough from Hermione giving a clue to what might be really going on. While this helps Harry and the others to FIND A FUCKING TARGET, elsewhere in Egypt, it is too little alas late, as the harvest begins…

Horse for the Force-Ranma/SW crossover: An angered and frustrated Ranma decides to make a statement, inadvertently becoming a music video icon the Republic over while Shaak Ti decides she might have to defend her territory once more. Work on the computer starts to see a few breakthroughs while Tyrannus attempts to gather more ships to attack the system, but find it isn’t easy, the Republic has begun to bounce back elsewhere, despite not having enough ships to do it. More reinforcements arrive, turning Wayland into a fortress. Ranma and Shaak are requested to help break an assault on a Jedi Agri-world, before being recalled in order to learn even more of what Wayland’s computers can tell them. As Sidious finalizes his escape plan, Harch launches an attack and Thrawn arrives, finding he has to prove his abilities to the Republic High Command before being given the command he wishes. Then Ranma and Shaak once more leave Wayland to follow up on a single specific piece of information. A traitor among the Jedi makes himself known, before Anakin proves that yes, he really is good at electronics, much to the chagrin of the Sith, and both Confederate and Jedi forces move to concentrate on Coruscant.

Magic of the force – SW/HP crossover: While the war is still stuck in third gear, Harry and Aayla head to meet with Master Gallia at her space station before heading on to Ruusan. At both stops they are welcomed and discover that they are not the only ones who have been very, very busy. The Ruusan Sector’s representatives tell Harry and the others of certain moves they have made declaring formal war on the Confederacy and proves to, surprisingly, be in the position to contribute ships rather than simply resources and personnel. What Master Fay and Lily have been up to astonish Harry and Aayla even further, although not nearly as much as being within the field of Fay’s Force Font does the younglings and Jedi with them. Some of Fay and Lily’s work, however, have long-reaching implications, having created an entirely new way for the Force to shows its power: potions. Meanwhile, Anakin finishes his retraining in the temple to Mace’s satisfaction if not happiness. Spending time with family and introducing Ahsoka goes by quickly, but soon Harry and the others need to return to the wider universe, as the war starts to ramp up once more and a series of attacks forces Garm to decide to put one of the GDL’s fleets in danger, or let the Republic pay in blood.
