March 2021 Large Story Poll Results (Patreon)

Happy Saturday everyone!

As it is the twentieth, it is now time to shut down the March Small story Poll.

And of course, before that, there is the Sitrep. Sword Bow and Horse was finished and sent off to Hiryofor editing this past weekend, and I should get it back soon, which means you all should see it here soon too.

Magic of the Force is about 2/3rds of the way done, despite giving me conniptions. Shifting from sword and sorcery to sci-fi was not easy this time, and this was made worse by the fact a large segment of the chapter is meetings, meetings and more meetings. That’s what happens when your main character is the overall leader of a political/social movement. I won’t even be able to get into the Ruusan Sector stuff as I had hoped. On the other hand, that means for the first time ever Magic of the Force will be in the SMALL story poll in April.

On the other hand, thanks to my issues with Magic, I took some time to outline the next episode-style update for Death’s Avenger. But I don’t know if I will actually post it just yet due to that fact that Tomon, who was a major help and beta-reader for the first chapter has yet to get back to me with the last Episode style chapter. I would prefer to not get too far ahead of his beta-reading, since he tends to point out fundamental flaws in my understanding of WoW.

With that said, here are the results of the small story poll.

Rather predictably in last place is GDWHOM. It Only brought in 49 votes over on fanfic, and a total of 703.

But, shockingly, in fourth place, for the first time ever not even getting a podium finish, is FILFy Teacher!!! Shocking. It brought in a respectable 99 votes on fanfic, yet only had a total of 916.

Taking third place with an impressively strong showing, is Fate Touched. Smaug would not be pleased about settling for bronze instead of gold, but at a total of 1,410 of which 113 came from fanfic, Fate Touched could not compete with the big boys.

Even more surprising, despite a strong showing of 170 votes from fanfic A Third Path to the Future could not pull in the win this time, scoring a total of 1,737 votes.

But do not despair ATP fans, this fic will be back next month in the Large Story Poll! I have finally figured out some bits to put in to show what’s been going on back on Earth without it being too needlessly filler. Indeed, it will be addressing a single, ongoing issue that several of my readers have pointed out. HOhoho.

What all this means is that the winner is Stallion of the Line!!! It tied with FILFy over on fanfic with 99 votes, but brought in more here on Patreon, taking the gold with 1,976 total votes.

Woot. I get to have Raffy play with the lightning fruit and Robin play with him in equal measure.
