January2021 First Sitrep and More (Patreon)

Hey everybody! It is the tenth and the fact the Large Story Poll for this month finished last night, I figured I could combine that, the first sitrep announcement of this year, and the results of the Future of Semblance Poll.

So first, a sitrep. I have nearly finished the Bhaalson Remodel. I need to go back, put in names, put in some formatting, and then… if I dare… use Grammarly to go over the chapter. I don’t know if it will work due to, shall we say, f, f, false positives, LOL.

And now on to the Large Story Poll:

In an overwhelming victory, Magic of the Force won, scoring 2,875 to 2,244 over Horse. So work will begin on it tomorrow. Realize though, that this means that will be backing whichever Ranma fic has a better chance of beating the two HP choices.

And on to the future of Semblance vote:

Yes, Semblance is interesting enough, I’d like to see tiny episode-type blurbs of it until it’s finished here on Patreon  was the winner overwhelmingly at 2,535. Where was this enthusiasm when I had Semblance as part of the small story polls, huh!? LOL.

No, drop Semblance, it isn’t interesting at all. Give me more Death’s Avenger NOW! Came in second place, if very distantly, with 1,123.

I don’t care about Semblance! Keep the current Homage Episodes going! Was in third place at 809.

I think you should just keep the current format and not bother with trying to add more, dropping the Homage Episodes too brought in a measly 268.

With the voting done, let us look at the comments section. A lot of people said they wanted me to get Semblance over with so that I could start Death’s Avenge.  Novus put his thoughts on the issue of Semblance in comparison to my other stories pretty well. I am not certain I agree with him on the issue of Beni, but I do think I was too fast to discount pure magic in this universe. I was going by an initial statement made when RWBY first came out, and was then discarded in the third season on about there not being magic in Remnant. But it is done, and has removed the curse so it worked to a certain extent. Beni just isn’t as strong or driving a character as Ranma, or even the original RWBY characters, who I love. It is simply the world around them that I struggle with sometimes.

Oh, and I also love the Henrietta character! LOL.

Others were hardcore HP or Death’s Avenger fans. And as I said when I asked about Semblance’s future, I enjoyed that greatly. The sheer amount of lore, time, and world building that I can do, they call to me, like a siren’s song LOL.

Jeffrey Smith advised that I should drop Bhaalson and replace it with Death’s Avenger. I am turning that concept down and will repeat my words to him here, so everyone can see it. I like Minsc and the other characters too much now that I’ve got to them to stop. And I haven’t even gotten to Viconia! Yet.

Since this win was sort of obvious days back, when I wanted to take a break from Harry, I started work on Semblance. I should have it done and sent off to Hiryo for editing Tuesday night or so. As to the future of the small episode-type stories, I hope to be able to get out two, maybe three such per month (except for February, which is short and busy). I will probably try to get another out by the end of the month, and then one or maybe two for the Super Bowl.  We will see. February is weird, so there will be another poll as to what format that month should take posted soon.

However, the vote for Death’s Avenger was such that I will be splitting up the types of the Episodes by which fandom has won the polls that month, as I spoke about to Alejandro Kalansky. So if HP wins two of the story polls, both episodes will be Ranma-based. If its’ even, then the episodes will be split by fandom evenly. If Ranma wins two of the polls then it will go the other way. I want to make certain to give my fans of both fandoms something every month at least here on Patreon if I can’t do so over on fanfic.

So this month you will see two Ranma-based episodes, and possibly one for Death’s Avenger. I might push that one back to the Super Bowl, it will be based how long Magic of the Force takes me.
