Hey everybody. I hope you all liked the latest chapter of Fate Touched and Horse for the Force. A warning: if you have left a review, I can’t see it yet! I can see the review count going up, but I cannot see any reviews from the 28th on. Annoying, but this is not the first time it’s happened. I am certain that fanfic will eventually solve it, as they have before. Until then, if you have a question, or noticed an important mistake in either fic, PM me here, and I will correct it.
Alas, GDWHOM is not going to be updated today. I ran into several different issues with this chapter, most of which was the setting of the celebration scene that was supposed to segue into Ranma and Rias confronting her parents. The conversation with Ranma and Gabby also didn’t seem to be very good. Then the last scene. I suck at describing clothing, and in that scene, I have to describe what several of the girls are wearing. Ugh. Anyway, I should still be able to finish it… without it affecting anything else this month!
So, without further ado, here are the four choices for the Small Story Poll!
A Third Path to the Future- HP/Marvel crossover: Despite considerable tension, the Shi’ar and the Custodes agree to work together, though not without continued personality conflicts, while in the shadows, the Emperor makes plans to betray his new allies, and Nikolai and the other spies gather information and ready themselves. A plan is made which causes amusement and consternation as Ororo networks, and Hela threatens. The plan is put in place, a trap created, drawing in the Herald first, then Galactus, with the Herald proving quite a bit tougher than believed. Harry, Jean, Amara, and Dr. Strange do battle with Galactus across the entire system, while the Herald is finally dealt with by Hela in a duel for the ages. Galactus and Harry have a ‘discussion’ before Galactus agrees to not eat planets with sentient civilizations on them and Harry agrees to not finish him off, understanding that would just make things worse. Hearing the results of the battle, the Emperor, filled with hope and arrogance in equal measure, decides to enact his oh-so-secret plan.
Stallion of the Line – Ranma/One Piece crossover: After a bumpy start the trip back down to the Blue Sea goes astonishingly smoothly, for the most part anyway. Most of the exceptions come in the form of a serious discussion between Nami and Robin, as the thief is forced to give an apology and do some soul-searching while Raffy and his newest crewmember talk about possibilities as Raffy does some normal type searching around the ship. Landing, they find the Log Pose pointing their way, but no island in sight, forcing the marines to stay with them for another two days before they can make landfall. Once on the odd island, the Pirates and marines discuss what to do before they meet a local and then are interrupted most foolishly by another band of pirates. After their game is rejected these pirates are beaten down. After that, however, things get quite icy, as Ranma comes face to face with a marine admiral, with somewhat predictable, punchy-type results. Afterward, Hina and her marines finally separate from their pirate allies, with the admiral in tow as the pirates are forced to wait for their log pose to settle.
Fate Touched in Middle Earth – HP/Tolkien crossover: After a bit of discussion, Harry has a close encounter, Bilbo is nearly stepped on before getting his revenge. A plan is enacted, much to the eventual chagrin of dwarves who suddenly find themselves parcels on the river of life, complete with all the bumps and dangers, as the elves furiously search for their quarry. They are not the only ones, alas, and the wild river becomes even wilder as orcs and elves compete with one another to who will capture/kill the dwarves. Tauriel makes a decision, the dwarves enjoy the concept of buoyancy a bit more, before being picked up and taken to the town on the river, with an extremely bedraggled scout and wizard bemoaning their lot in life. Meanwhile, Gandalf wakes up to an interrogation, which is interrupted. The council attacks with a fury not seen since the battle of Dagorlad, but too late, and Gandalf, though wounded, decides he must find Harry and the dwarves, warning them of the trouble to come.
Anything Goes Game Changer – Ranma/Sekirei crossover: While Ranma was capturing two of the three powerful Ashikabi in the city, Akitsu and their other allies were dealing with an issue completely unrelated to the Sekirei Plan of MBI, but that didn’t mean it was any less dangerous, even when the Amazons showed up to offer their aid. And not just to their bodies, but to their souls (and virginities, normal and otherwise-_-). While the others are dealing with being mentally and emotionally scarred despite their victory, Ranma has a talk with Nabiki, Akitsu has a talk with Tsukiumi, which forces several others to intervene before more than words are exchanged. After that, Nabiki and Kodachi and Homura start to plan for the future, making a ‘friend’ on the inside, the Amazons argue, several Sekirei are faced with the wall that is Miya, and Ranma smacks more than one idiot upside the head, before once more realizing that yes, in certain circumstances, his female form is a curse, thanks to Happosai while Minaka decides his next move in the game, to win or lose all.
As usual, my votes will go to Anything Goes Game Changer, since it is easily the closest story to completion. If it wins and then is updated with Semblance of Hope next month, I will be within one chapter of finishing it. Of course, just because it gets my own votes doesn’t mean it will win. Hell, normally it means the exact opposite LOL.
This vote will end on the 19th.
In other news, I have recently begun to use the paid-for version of Grammarly rather than a small mistake-type beta reader. My feeling is that while it helps a bit, it doesn’t help nearly enough to keep paying for. Thoughts?
