Captain's Log #15 - January2024
- Option 1: I want smaller chunks but faster 🚄🚃💨 75
- Option 2: I want bigger and spicier chunks but not as frequent 🚂🚋🚋 66
Greetings Spice Seekers! 🔥
It’s our usual time for monthly Devlog, but we are going to do it differently this time!
All demo dialogues were written before, but then they had to pass a stringent rewriting and revision process, and all the things we planned for the base demo are now in there! 🥂
Of course, we have a long list of ‘nice to have’ items, which we will be adding progressively, and most of the art is placeholders to be finished, but that is the first big chunk that we were looking for.
Now, what we ended up with is a pretty long experience. And we were thinking that, while we are finishing art and mechanics, our wordsmith Thorvald could move on with writing the next parts and chapters of the game. But BUT!!--
--When we released Captain’s Treat, we got a lot of feedback! And yes, we are reading all of it 📖📑📚
We are still receiving your suggestions, but soon we will post a summary of what were the main thoughts and what changes we will implement in the first place.
We are already managing our schedule for working on some of the comments and suggestions provided. For example, improving the controls was a big one, and having an alternative for those who don’t like/want to go through the sex mechanics was SO useful to know. Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏🙏
You killed it, Seekers!!
We’ve received a lot of messages about the minigame, and we think that your feedback would help us all a lot for the game demo (and for the full game down the road!). As such, and as you might already know, writing goes before anything else, and we could already get started with writing the story continuation!
While doing internal playtesting, it was difficult to get proper opinions for such a big gameplay scope, and having the demo delivered in parts gives us more flexibility for changes. We really want you to be part of this 🤝
We had a reasonable plan since the beginning: making a demo and the full game right after that, with no middle steps. 🙈 But, with Soulgasm being our first game, we sinned of being innocent idealists, and what should have been a short demonstrative demo ended up being QUITE AN EXTENSIVE PIECE of the full game.
We are constantly learning, and now we are shifting the ways we develop! This means that starting from the first build, we want to release regular build updates to keep you up-to-date and engaged with its development! But most importantly, we want to know in real-time if you like it and how you would improve our first dive into the world of Soulgasm! ✨🔮✨
We have two options:
Since we have mostly placeholders as art for most of the demo and our Cap’n is quite a perfectionist who wants to deliver everything in perfect condition, and because we already want to show you what we have been brewing for so long, we are greatly in favor of option 1. We can’t wait to get our world into your hands!!
Both solutions mean that, in the beginning, some things will still need polishing and refining. This means you will find placeholders here and there and some visual mechanics not yet in place, but the main purpose of this all is really to know what you think of the story and if you like the whole thing overall! So we can rest assured that we are on the right path 🔮❤️🔮
Without further ado, it's time to make a choice!! 📊💌👀
