Chapter 143: Teams

They placed the marines in the available cells near the back of the ship. The Vice-Admiral’s wounds were too serious to leave him there, so he was placed in the captain's cabin for the time being and was being watched carefully by Chopper.

The rest of the crew to together in the main living area after doing a quick inspection of the ship.

“We found some useful things in the navigation room” Nami placed some big pieces of paper and a log pose with three needles.

“This is the log pose that all Marine Captains or higher rank possess. It points to the three most important places for the World government. Enies Lobby, Mariejois, and finally Impel Down.” Explained Robin.

“Great!, with that thing, we can go directly to the prison and save Ace!” Luffy said with joy.

“Is not that easy, Captain,” Vivi added. “Remember our time at Enies Lobby? The way that the marines normally  reach those places is by passing through one of those colossal gates.”

“The Gates of Justice…” Spoke Robin. “Spandam was trying to drag me through one of those in order to take me to Impel Down.”

“So, I take it that we cannot take that route.” Said Usopp.

“The security is very tight there. They will immediately find out that we are not marines and will not open the gate for us.” Answered Robin.

“But with this ship, there is another way… isn't that right?, Nami” Vivi looked at her navigator.

Nami smiled confidently before opening one of the big papers she had placed on the table.

“Take a look a this.”

She revealed a sea map of the current area. It showed the Shabondy Archipelago, the Florian Triangle was in the west, where they fought Moria. South of them was another triangle, formed by the three main locations of the WG. The closest one was the Headquarters of Mariejoi, to the west was Ennes Lobby and a good distance to the south was Impel Down.

“We not that far from the prison, right?” Asked Usopp.

“If we could go through the Gates of Justice, it would probably only take us a couple of days.” Answered Nami.

“Then, do we have to go around that triangle over there?” Franky traced a circular line around Mariejois and into Impel Down.

“Isn't that area over here the ‘Calm Belt’?” Asked Zoro while placing his finger on the area around the prison.

They gasped in shock and looked at the swordsman with incredulity.

“How?!” Asked Usopp.

“Did he get it right? Did the Mosshead actually manage to read a map?!” Sanji was still wearing his blindfold but could guess from hearing the conversation.

“Shut up, you damn cook!. Of course, I can read a map!” Shouted Zoro.

“He just can't follow its instructions” Commented Vivi, earning an angry glare.

“Anyways…” Continued Nami. “Zoro was… mm…right…that is the Calm Belt. As you may remember, is the part that separates the Grand Line from the other seas. There is no wind in that area and is filled with Sea Kings. Normally, it would be impossible for a ship to cross that area and reach Impel Down using that route. That’s probably part of the reason that it was built there in the first place.”

“Vivi mentioned that this ship had another way to get there, isn't that right?” Brook pointed out.

“Of course! This is a Vice-Admiral warship! It must have the bottom coated with seastone.” Exclaimed Franky.

“Exactly! With this ship, we can cross through the Calm Belt. It will not be easy to create the route that we must follow. We need to circumnavigate Mariejois and get to the Calm Belt, then we can follow the log pose to Impel Down without issues.” Said Nami.

“How long it will take us to get there? using that route” Asked Luffy.

“I'm not completely sure, but around 4 or 5 days, I think.” Answered Nami.

“That's close…Ace only has seven days.” Said Luffy.

“He has six. That newspaper was from yesterday.” Robin spoke.

“We need to hurry then!.” Shouted Usopp.

“Yes, we should make the teams and get moving.” Said Sanji.

“I have a suggestion,” Vivi said. “There are 10 of us, so 5 can go and another 5 will stay and keep the Sunny safe. The Captain obviously goes, we also need Nami's skills to get there and we will probably need a doctor.”

“So, Luffy, Nami, and Chopper. That makes sense, who else?” Asked Sanji.

“I think Sanji devil fruit could be useful in an infiltration mission and for the last member…I would like to include myself. We will need all the fighting power that we can have.” Said Vivi.

“And what makes you the most indicated?” Asked Zoro with a frown.

“Have you thought about how to hide the ship for at least 10 days? There are a lot of marines in here.” Asked Vivi.

“That is true…there are no good hiding places here. At least not that the Marines wouldn't know about.” Commented Usopp.

“You have an idea for that too?” Nami looked at her.

“Did Rayeileigh say how long will the coating last?” She asked.

“He gave us a one-month guaranteed.” Answered Franky.

“And the trip to Fishman Island takes around a week…that should work.” Murmured Vivi.

Robin realized what she was prosing.

“You want to hide the Sunny at the bottom of the ocean?”
