Fun fact. Attack on titan universe is just the world mad upside down. So the walls that were built where eren lives is the African country of Madagascar just upside down. Also If you pause and look at the end credits for “to be continued” there is a map explaining that there had always been a division of territory. The writer is so good at storytelling that they have always left hints that there has been humanity outside the walls.

this lowkey my favorite episode in the show to watch reactions to, mainly because of what the one asshole officer says and then watching the reactors cheer for his gruesome death. The writer really just understands people

It's not something so tangible as most people would assume, instead it's an entire history/memories robbed by the king of the walls which is currently being retold through Grisha's writings in those 3 books. Tell me which other work of fiction has this level of build up and the reveal to match. Also, Erwin and his dad were right all along.

Also fun fact about your fun fact: In the beginnings of the third reich, Hitler planned to deport all european Jews to Madagascar to make it an island only for jews. However this plan was later discarded and they decided to kill them in extermination camps instead.

This is the only show that I am aware of that tackled the topic of history books and how history is written. The side who held the power get to write the history and they get to inject their point of view and agenda. History records will never give us the full picture.
