If instead of photographing over top of the video you digitally overlaid... Think mystery science theatre but only TF. You could do either screens or videos that way.

Agreed - if you "photoshopped" your narrator into the screenshots, I think it would work a lot better. You'd need a bunch of green screens of her, then chromakey her into the outer areas of each scan/capture/whatever.
