Well, I did it. I made it another year, and for the first time in my life, I didn't let writing stay something I would do later. Later it a dangerous thing, and I for many years it was always when I was going to do my writing. After I'd read more. After I'd outlined more. After everything else that was more important was done.

But we never really get there do we? If you don't make time, there will never be time.

So last July I started writing Letter of the Law with the intent to publish. And it was a flop. I posted every day for 30 days and got 8 followers. For a few weeks I was convinced I should give up right there, but I decided to write a couple other shorts for fun, and both of those got more traction.

Now, almost a year later, Tenebroum is a bonafide hit, and there are at least a few people looking forward to all my stories every week. Its a good feeling. I can't really express to all of you how much that means to me, so thank you for helping me accomplish a couple of my life goals. Now I just need to finish some of these stories and get them published so they can sit on my shelf. Then I will die happy.

                                                                . . .

In other news, Inspired by Darkest Reflection I've been working on short stories the last couple weeks to accomplish another goal: harvesting rejection letters. Thats right - in the spirit of Stephen King and his nail, I am writing stories and sending them off to magazines and anthologies. While I certainly hope they get accepted, a rejection letter is almost as good.

If anyone would like to read them, I'll link them below.

An Illuminated Life is sort of a dystopian fairy tale (written for banned books week).

The Dwellers Below is an Appalachian mythos story that takes place in the 90s.

The Hive is a post apocalypse apocalypse (and a story I will expand on eventually)

Purposeless Redundancy is an AI horror short.

Obviously shorts aren't for everyone, and they wont interfere with my webnovels you all enjoy so much, but I hope to have at least a dozen of these out in circulation by the end of the year. Anything that gets rejected from its first submission can be sent on again. So - since I expect most of these to get rejected several times, getting to 100 rejection letters by this time next year shouldn't be a problem. As you can see in the above screen grab, I've already picked where I will send them all to next.
