I fully agree that the temples/dungeons feel like a neutered version of Divine Beasts from Breath of the Wild. It feels like they wanted to give players temples, as that was one of the major complaints about Breath of the Wild, but sadly, the temples don't feel like temples or dungeons from previous Zelda games. One significant improvement is the more unique bosses at the end of each temple. That was one problem I had with Breath of the Wild, how each Divine Beast ended with the same xxxblight Ganon fight with minute differences between them. I also find it quite sad how most puzzles in the open world will always have the solution in immediate proximity. Like when you had to find that missing piece from the wall. It happens to be right next to you. This happens all the time throughout Tears of the Kingdom. The game has an excellent physics engine, allowing players to solve problems creatively. But the solution to everything the game throws at you is immediately apparent if you look around for five seconds. You have to deliberately ignore this to be creative and play with the physics and the powers the game gives you. I find this to be quite strange.
