So I usually let myself pick games mostly on a whim, with a series of lists to keep track of my options and which series to follow up on.  Most of the time I don't really care about new releases all that much, and often have one whole newish game running at a time.

But every now and then something comes out that I'm "obviously" going to play, like a new From Software souls-like or something.  Lately there have been a few more examples of things I'll "obviously" play immediately:

-Resident Evil has been on a roll ever since RE7, and I look forward to every release.  This new one even looks like it'll have creepy Bloodborne werewolves, so hell yeah. Two interests in one place, let's go.

-Subnautica is a fan-favorite series. Maybe even a top 3 playthroughs of all time contender alongside Zero Escape and The Witness.  The sequel, Below Zero is about to leave early access.  I'm both hyped about and dreading playing it, due to my thalassophobia.  Like seriously, I've been looking forward to the fun parts, but I've also literally had nightmares about the kinds of things that MIGHT be in this sequel that I haven't even seen or played yet.

Only one problem: They come out A WEEK APART. Ugh.

So vote below for which game should I play as soon as Star Fox Adventures is done. I'm sure I'll get around to the other one eventually, but it'll likely be when the slot is available again in 2-4 months.

I voted for Subnautica because that's the one I'll be watching if you LP it, but I also feel bad. I don't want us all to force you into playing it if you genuinely don't want to or if it's bad for your mental health. We did force you into playing the original with the Patreon vote and I don't know if that's a good thing.

Ellie

Agreed, please don't play it only for our sake if you genuinely just can't.

I'd be interested to see your LP of Subnautica with therapist commentary lol.

I voted for Subnautica: Below Zero but if you don't want to play it or will be genuinely uncomfortable playing that game then please don't play it!

Ganymede105

I agree with everyone here. I'll even go one further and say you should quit and/or take a long break should you find yourself too uncomfortable to continue, even if you've already started playing it.

That's a good point. This is psychologically heavy-duty, it should definitely be an "ability to withdraw consent at any time" sort of enterprise.

Whichever choice wins, I won't watch most likely for a bit so I can play the game myself first, but I'm excited to see what you do after!

On the plus side, if you play Below Zero you'll finally be done with it. So that's one rock less on your shoulders. (Assuming such a thing even exists) :V

As much as I want to see S:Z if it is just going to come out I rather have the wave of initial bugs patched before you tackle that. So RE is my choice for the one you should start first

Conxesion

I also definitely agree with all the comments to subnautica below zero (health first) but I can rly say that it is/was really good even before the final release !

It's been in early access for a couple of years now, and their most recent update was all about addressing bugs. I wouldn't expect too many issues at launch.

Kristine Harbek

I played through most of S:BZ like a week ago, and encountered less bugs than I STILL do in Subnautica. Obviously I didn't exhaustively try everything to go looking for bugs, and you might still end up finding some, but I think it will be fine. Or at least, I don't think waiting after launch is gonna make a huge difference.

Gotta say, I'm loving all the votes lately!
