I recognize that puzzle fans have lost out a bit ever since the puzzle slot was folded into the new chimera that is the indie/AAA/puzzle/classic... thing.  I largely stand by the choice because the schedule was getting overwhelming, especially with the addition of the multiplayer stuff (the Stephanie series, Bird series, Andrew series, and misc weekend group stuff [probably Overwatch]), which, from the schedule's perspective, are like free bonus videos. The weight of the multiplayer videos on my time budget was really starting to be felt, and still is, but I also don't want to do away with them.

But hey, it's been a long time since the last puzzle game, in part because The Last of Us Part 2 was quite long, and Kentucky Route Zero also takes its sweet time (both games are great).  When the puzzle slot finally rolls back around, as it will after KRZ ends, I really feel the pressure when it comes to picking the next game.

So here's the nightmare list of games I was considering, straight from my messy notes.

Vote and Whatnot.

I've seen a couple different people whose taste I trust screaming into the void that "There Is No Game" deserves more attention. Unfortuantely it's stuck on my own list, but I'd be thrilled to watch an LP (while cooking dinner and stuff, yknow).

Yay! More puzzle content. I'm excited! Especially if there was more The Room content.

Out of curiosity, which puzzle games have you played a second time, or even several times (aside from Portal), privately I assume? In most cases, replaying a puzzle game might seem pointless - but I come back to The Witness every once in a while just because it puts me in a fantastic mindset (if I'm able to ignore the shittiness of Jonathan Blow well enough, which I usually am, because I only play it if I'm emotionally completely down). Have you even considered (but probably decided against, since there's already so much to play and people click replay-LPs much less) playing a puzzle game a second time? Portal doesn't count (but is generally a good example, I just already know the answer to that one).

Disappointed to see that Filament is not an option. I guess Supraland will have to do.

Supraland! My favorite puzzle game in recent years

I just heard of A Monster’s Expedition that released a few days ago, through Jonathan Blow praising it as “one of the best puzzle games ever made”, might be an interesting game to play in the future :)
