So this chapter...wound up being a lot about Taylor and Olga Marie.

They both have very good points and very good reasons for believing what they do, and neither of them is necessarily wholly right or wrong. They're flawed people making flawed decisions with the limited information they have.

This one felt a little bit short, and it is a little bit shorter than chapters have been recently, but tacking anything else on would've felt... Well, tacked on. So I slapped a pithy ending line on the bottom and called it done.

EDIT: Moving down all the way. 10/08/2023

Just catching up with the story after some time away. I had a question. Might be a dumb one, since my knowledge of Fate Lore beyond unlimited budgetworks is limited, but considering that Emiya's Avalon knock off does a pretty pasable job and his discount Rho Aias let him tank Gae Bolg like a boss (or a suicidal moron), when Taylor said that Medea's Rule Breaker would make short work of this curse, couldn't they have asked him to make a copy of it and try? I would think that sitting on top of all those Grails to draw on and Rika pretty much willing to beggar her magic to save her brother, Emiya could make a pretty convincing stand in for Rule Breaker. Am I missing something?

One of those questions is answered in the next few chapters. Granted, part of the answer kind of happens off screen... But to clarify a couple of things: Emiya, as a Heroic Spirit, can't recreate Avalon. His "image" of it disappears after the Grail is dismantled ten years after his Holy Grail War. This happens to Fate route Shirou, too. It technically happens to every version of Shirou, but Fate route is the only version of Shirou who actually figures out how to Trace the thing, so it's a bit moot to say it happens to every version. His "discount" Rho Aias isn't really a "discount" version, either. Emiya's Projections are all faithful recreations of the originals, down to the skill with which they were wielded, but they have a single "flaw" because even Emiya can't quite get "everything" just by laying eyes on it, so everything he Projects receives a single rank down. The only thing that has ever been an exception to this is Avalon, but we've already been over why he can't use it as a Heroic Spirit.
