I love the idea that everyone is just completely flabbergasted every time Taylor is just the slightest bit motherly toward Jackie, and meanwhile, Taylor is internally scrambling for examples of what that even means. She just keeps coming back to her memories of her own mother, which has to be all kinds of bittersweet.

She's also kinda noticing that her enemies tend to monologue. At some point, I think Rika needs to comment about it, referencing The Incredibles, because bad guys in Nasu are particularly guilty of that sin.

Wound up splitting this chapter up. It was getting a bit too big, and I was going to be way too far behind finishing it if I tried to keep everything in.

EDIT: Moving down all the way. 5/5/2024

The chapter was getting to be nearly as big as Tit-turia's chest! :D If you think about it, you have to wonder just how far in advance the Counter Force works. Because Taylor's mom died when she was so young, she was left with that memory and method of interaction and how a mother interacts with a young daughter. Ergo, because of this she can connect more easily to Jack which allows her to sway our stripper assassin to the side of righteousness. And warm clothing. Personally, I'd be expecting Rika to make a Han/ Indy Shot First joke if Taylor interrupts a monologue.

Okay, Taylor and Jackie's interactions throughout the chapter are adorable, and everyone else's reaction to them is pretty funny. I'm glad that Mordred didn't try to restart the fight with Taylor. Yes, please get Jackie new clothes. Heh, Taylor lightly trolling Rika was amusing. No surprise that they were attacked; let's see how our expanded group handles them. Thanks for the new chapter.

Very true, and Taylor is definitely the type to interrupt a monologue once she got all the information she wants/needs from them.

“All the more she said about it” - the phrasing is odd. I feel like ‘that’s all she said about it’ would be less confusing. If Rika ends up quoting the Incredibles, I hope she ends up showing it to Taylor. Especially the deleted scene with Gazerbeam’s funeral (since it would provide insight into what their social group was like) “When we all lied down” - it think ‘lay’ works better, especially given I think this is a bit of a homophone mixup… Is the ‘alligators in sewers’ a reference to TMNT; A nod to Leatherhead (I can’t remember which city it is set in… Brooklyn, maybe?)
