You missed it I think, but Asana's father retired as CEO of the company, after learning what Sugoh did. Remember, Sugoh worked for her father... her father's company took over maintaining the SAO servers, and the servers for the new Alfheim game, so her father bared some responsibility for everything that happened to her and the other 300 SAO players. Like others have said, season 3 is probably better than season 2... the stakes continue to get higher... and now that Asuna and Kirito's relationship is established, I feel like they focus on their romance less as the story progresses.
