And here...we...go! The start of the journey of a lifetime. I'm along for the ride. May skip some of the drawn out episodes/arcs, but I appreciate you guys diving into one of my favorite pieces of pop culture. I originally binged 450 episodes one summer in high school and have been hooked since. Even caught up with the manga which is still ongoing at over 1085 chapters. Long story, short: enjoy the ride! Here's some non-spoiler fun facts: - Toei Animation is the studio that animates this series. They are known for many of the big classic anime including all of the Dragon Ball shows, Sailor Moon, and the original Digimon show. You'll likely recognize some sound effects from those shows since they like to use the same sound bank. - The One Piece anime started in 1999, making it the oldest of the big three (Naruto - 2002, Bleach - 2004). Interestingly, it started 4 days after the 1999 Hunter X Hunter anime run. - The Game of Thrones comparison is accurate. I've seen reactors with whole whiteboards to keep track of who is affiliated with whom, and who knows what, and who's going where, but the show can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. Whole channels exist off of crafting theories about the lore alone...and they're very, very popular within the community (avoid at all costs to prevent spoilers).
