im not sure about the confusion to kanekis choice its the same one as toukas brother which kaneki also questioned to why he would join aogiri its not like he just joined for fun that being said whatever kaneki joined for he still must do aogiris tasks in the meantime like any other member

At the end of season 1 we got the impression that Kaneki learned he had to fight in self defense. Not hunting people down before they even have made a move on them. But i get how he might take it as there already a threat, so kill them before they kill us type of mentality. Still it seems like 180 for his character. Self defense to protect people would of been a more subtle step for them to take his character rather than lets kill the ccg and anyone in our way.

he killed jason before he could go after anteiku is that not exactly what you said is a 180? also keep in mind kaneki has killed zero ccg members to date at the end of ep 3 it was mentioned he was a cannibal atm

Killing jason wasnt a 180. Jason was trying to kill him, like i said he would of acted in self defense. Not join a terrorist organization and contribute to attacking people
