(No Spoiler, just a little insight) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's manga is pretty old. The first part was released in the 80s. The whole series had such a big success in Japan that it inspired various video games, mangas and animes for various reasons. If something resemble JoJo, it probably was inspired by it. For example, the Street Fighter characters design looks like JoJo characters. Guile was inspired by Stroheim's design. Also, Araki (the author of the series) had a lot of inspiration from American music culture. It had such a great impact on him that he named many characters from pop bands (from his era). For example: Dio comes from the band called [Ronnie James] Dio, the American metal band from the 80s. Robert E.O. Speedwagon --> REO Speedwagon Zeppeli --> Led Zeppelin To avoid copyright problems in the subs, translators needed to localize the band names into something else. For example, Santviento is called in fact Santana, the American rock band from the 60s. They DO voice it correctly in the Japanese dub (if you listen closely), but not in the English dub. If you guys want me to cite the culture references in each episode, I can do it!
