Alright so just to explain....this whole show takes place in Japan lol. Nationals takes place in Tokyo. There are different prefectures that different schools are in. Karasuno and Seijoh (Aoba Josai) are in the Myagi prefecture. Only one team will qualify from there to go. So everybody they face will only be in the same prefecture besides nationals if they make it there because it’s all of the qualifying schools in Japan. Nekoma is in the Tokyo prefecture. So the only way Karasuno could ever have an official match against them is in nationals if they both can make it. The number of teams that can qualify from each prefecture depends on the size of the prefecture. You’ll learn more about how many can qualify from other prefectures a little later .
