He did burn her back. She has a gaint scar coverong the tatto. It was during a slow moment yall probably ignored or forgot. Also going on that the series was just build up for the promised day is a lie. We didnt even know about that for the longest and the build up was getting their bodies back and the mystery of the homunculus.

Unpopular opinion of mine but this is one of my least favourite moments from FMAB. Like I get it, they're trying to make sure he doesn't get consumed by revenge but come the fuck on. Envy was literally responsible for the genocide of many Ishvalans and the murder of Hughes. Mustang is justified in being angry and deserved to kill him to get closure on Hughes. The whole "You can't kill him otherwise you'll live a life through hatred" just felt so forced to me. I know most people will disagree with me but it just felt like this came out of nowhere. To have Ed and Scar lecture him felt so ridiculous and forced. Even the comparison to Scar doesn't quite work very well. If the Homunculi are shown to be outright monsters then why should Mustang show mercy? He certainly didn't show mercy for Lust. So why should this change him? He's been sitting on the sidelines and carrying out his plans to change Amestris for a better society only to be denied closure on defeating the enemy who killed his friend. To me, it just felt like they were placing a moral dilemma situation at the wrong moment. It's like they were trying to make us pity Envy at the last minute but it doesn't work for me. If Envy had development or if we had least learned about his motivations before then maybe I would feel differently. But no, it just doesn't work for me. I'm siding with you on this Johnny. Its an unpopular opinion among the fandom but I still stand by it.

well to be fair Mustang didn't have personal feelings involved with Lust, so killing her didn't affect his headspace at all, he was just doing his job. Here he wasn't, he just wanted to take pleasure into torturing Envy and he was convinced that it was justified. It is never justified to openly torture someone, not even for revenge, Mustan should stand by it more than anyone considering that he is in the freaking military. Of course you don't have to agree, your feelings on the matter are valid
