I think the best way to describe the difference between the fights in My Hero and other shonen (not all, of course) is that every move is important because most characters want to end fights as quickly as possible. Goku, for example will usually start fighting in base and only transforms when/if he needs to and almost never wants to seriously injure his opponent. Aizawa, on the other hand immediatly knees Dabi's clone in the head and breaks both of his arms. He's a hero trying to stop a villain, not a martial artist that enjoys fighting to constantly test his limits.

I find that the fights also tend to have an emotional intensity. It's good in that it gives the fights mean when the characters are emotional invested.

Since ya'll were confused at Deku naming his punch, All Might has shown that he names his special punch moves; They're named after certain states and u.s cities(Detroit smash, Texas smash etc. I think what Johnny is trying to say is that the hits in this anime feel like they have more consequence or that the stakes are higher if hit when compared to Boruto or dbz for example where main characters keep on trucking with seemingly little consequence.

I know I am late on this but let me explain about the blood issue. Naruto and shiet was made by Kishimoto who is a veteran of manga. The old days of Shonen shows were always lesser extreme and gory because Shonen Jump was meant for kids basically they PG-13 this shiet and make it DISNEY WORTHY. But My Hero Academia is made by BONES studios, they dont give a crap about blood because they are more artistically free from an age group plus Horikoshi the author of My Hero is a Star Wars and Marvel/DC fan so he's all cool about blood and violence.
