I also held back on this one for a while before I ended up watching it. While the premise is a revenge story, it isn't all dark and gloomy. The MC is clever (compared to the usual happy-go-lucky MCs, he does seem to think about what he does before doing it) and the interactions with other characters is pretty fun. And despite it ultimately being about revenge, it seems to follow the "I'm the weakest one but I'm actually the strongest" trope since the MC is the leader of a sect and goes undercover as some weak guy in a low-rank family (for reasons I won't spoil, but this all happens in the beginning). So I'm not sure if this appeals to you, but I hope this helps you decide whether if it does. And if you're still not sure, just start watching and you'll know :D
