I'm not entirely happy with the story trajectory. Idiot father gets demonized trying to save son who's already saved. Now idiot son needs help of human emperor to save idiot father. But arrogant, selfish, two-faced son of human emperor has designs on idiot son's girl. To borrow from Professor Hinkle in "Frosty the Snowman (1969)", 'Messy, messy, messy'. My projection is Two-face Emperor's Son uses Demonized Father as excuse to eliminate Idiot Son as traitor to humanity to clear the way to get the girl.
