It's monday's post, but, today! Wanted to post now, worked on it a lot

Alright! Got all the motions i wanted in, in. I was hoping to keep her arm and everything not 'important' to the action at a low frame rate but the arm was too important, and it was actually quite a task to move it in space, towards the camera, in time lol. Also have her holding onto him back there while that end contracts.

Getting a lot of practice here though.

Now for the long, difficult task of inking it. I'm hoping to have this ready for next week! I'll put the teaser up publicly then.

Also, i'm considering grabbing an adobe sub again, for after effects. I see now, after doing a lot of frame by frame recently, why people do it. I've considered toon boom as well? I downloaded the trial but it seems pretty inscrutable right off the bat, and i have used AE in the past.

We'll see! I'd love to work animation into the production pipeline.

Though of course, 3d is also always an option 👀

3D needs rigging which is a huge thing in itself.

I rigged the daisy model, I know. It’s a small nightmare. And she doesn’t have any ik or constraints either, just bones to pose her. If I start doing 3d stuff I’ll probably have to pay someone to rig.

oh wow this is looking really neat, really like the squishiness of the muzzle there~ also intrigued about how these could turn out with some AE work on it heard there's also good alternatives like Natron but no idea how they work compared to the real thing, at least not from personal experience🤔

I don't mind paying the painful adobe tax, as long as it's worth it on the other side, you know? If it's making more than it costs per month then it's just a cost of doing business. Still, i'd rather find some other solution than jumping back into that ecosystem. I did try to rig a 2d image in blender today for kicks, and it was a bit of a disaster, so i don't think there's any way around it for that kind of animaiton. Still, i'll check out Natron, never heard of it. Thanks for the recommendation!

2023-03-25 09:24:32 On the subject of Blender, it's not a terrible environment for 2D animation, but you've gotta deal with z-fighting/planefighting manually by adjusting the depth of each layer along whatever plane you're working on. As for an alternative to Adobe, might I refer you to this chart. https://external-preview.redd.it/pGtDbTxl95r0bj3qFsrACum4SDPfhnlRHVQ_bctUz-Q.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=352ac35ba7e7ff7bcc6d2b7c8266d224a5bab206
