i was not prepared for the L'ANIMATION in the french way said it XD but yeah S2 is less good in a way but still a good season for me the plot was interesting i was catch it's just the start of S2 is really weird and confusing we have a lot of information throw at you with not a lot of explanation, but still an interesting story and red line to follow and make me wait for S3 hyped to see it

Please watch Season 2. As you surmised, Season 1 is a super high bar, and Season 2 while still good, doesn't hit that same bar. But that's not saying a lot when the bar was already super high.

The "Rumors and traditions" lore goes off the rails in this arc. From here on there is less of that, if you were wondering. I would say that aspect of the show material is the weakest/hardest to digest. Probably the hardest to translate from the written source material.

I do hope ya'll go on with S2 at some point. It may not be the beloved hit that S1 turned out to be, but it plays REAL well with everything you see in S1, and the depth of Anos's life and destiny get a lot of effort. I'm dying to get caught up on the LNs, but I keep putting it off for the other 42 series I'm intending on getting done.

Btw, the Vimeo I see when I click the link, it does not include episode 8. It that just me for some reason? I've refreshed and whatnot, but it goes Misfit episode 7 to Frieren episode 5. Huh.

Honestly I can't say that season 2 was bad. A big part of why I didn't finish season 2 is the VA for Anos. The original was replaced and it changed everything for me. To me the new VA was playing it more as an emotionless CEO than an arrogant (with good reason) "god"

Yeah season 2 wasn't really bad, it wasn't as great as season 1, but it mainly gets called bad because they had to cancel airing midway through the season and then restart a few months later, right as they were building up to the big bad, killing the flow. It should be good to watch now that it has fully aired.
