School shooter vibes 😂️ Yeah, Xiao Shiqin is awesome. He was exactly what Excellent Era needed here, a mature clear-headed player outside the Ye Qiu AoE, to restore balance to EE, if at all possible. And, Happy did qualify -- the rules of the challenge said they only had to kill *one* EE player to not lose. You remember after the match, one of the organizers apologetically told them the referee's timer had malfunctioned -- that Happy actually did succeed in killing Life Extinguisher (Xiao Shiqin). Of course, this whole challenge is LA drama stuff, including this coy system timer that suddenly decided to malfunction. At least, it's done with now, though it was fun watching the match.

Now, let me provide some background on all the talk you heard about selling skill books, and the phone call Chen Guo was making: I think I mentioned this before, but Skill Points are basically points you allocate to the different Skills available to your class, that determine how powerful that skill is. The max total skill points that any character can have is 5000, as of this point in the story. Different players distribute their skill points according to their tastes and playstyles (SX probably dumped half his points into Dragon Soars The Sky lol). The main way players can gain skill points is through Skill Books. A skill book may contain X skill points: 20, 25, whatever. Players gain skill books through PvE or Quest rewards -- and even then, very rarely. Skill Books cannot be traded between players. Most pro characters have around 4800 points -- the max is Han Wenqing's Desert Smoke, with 4880 points, who is commonly believed to have the max in the entire game. All this means that, if someone finds a reliable/repeatable way to gain Skill Books, this would be very valuable information indeed -- especially so to the big Teams, who are always on the hunt for some tiny advantage over other Teams, to gain the Championship. Enter Wei Chen. With his many years of experience in the game, combined with his pro senses, in extensive research over time, he had found semi-reliable ways to gain skill books. For instance, complete X quest in this specific way, and your chances of getting a skill book in reward are suddenly as high as 34 %. Complete this other quest Y in this way, and the chances are 20 %, and so on. Of course, this is only feasible if you haven't completed those quests before, but Wei Chen's research covered many quests, so it's hardly a problem. Based off that data, Luo Ji constructed a model to provide those hard-percentages for predictions. The result is a series of quests that can land you over 1000 skill points. A mad boost for any pro character! There was a lot of awesome analysis and negotiation in the novel here, but to cut things short, Happy eventually arranged a secret deal with Team Samsara, to sell them a guide for these quests. Samsara is making a big push for this year's Championship, so they're especially hungry for anything that gives them an edge. The deal was worth 20M yuan -- 2M in game materials, 18M in wire transfer, after intense hilarious haggling between Ye Xiu and Club Samsara management. Wei Chen immediately became smugly rich, since most of it was his hard work, and of course, he donated a lot of the cash and materials to Happy to help the team. It's one of my favourite arcs!

(The deal was kept secret because like you said, if the game company learned of this sort of thing, they'd likely patch it and then Happy would lose all further benefit from these loopholes. Even the guide they sold to Samsara, isn't the entire thing -- they held back some quests in case Samsara decides to proactively snitch to the game company, to deny everyone else an advantage, after they've maxed out their own characters. And there's other stuff too, they really went wild with the analysis 😂️ and I totally dig it)

The match was super fun to watch. And I actually have some hope for Chen Yehui after seeing Sun Xiang redeem himself. Though not much 😅 Alright thanks for clearing up the qualifying. That's good news. -Brandon
