Some days after the beginning of the football World Cup in Qatar, I decided to draw this and I admit I share both the points of view I put in the drawing. I feel a bit upset about the choice of hosting the World Cup in a place like Qatar, for all the reason you heard, but we should remember also that football industry is not an innocent and pure world, that ”lgbtq cause” is almost a taboo thing in there and you can count gay players in the whole world on the fingers of a hand.

and then there is the doubt I had even about myself. I’m not sure this indignation is totally genuine, and not given by the veeeeery little detail that Italy did not qualify for the second time in a row to the World Cup and if you like football you wait for this moment every four years and when things are shitty, you’re a bit disappointed thinking your team could have been there too. That’s the reason of the title of this post. I feel like the fox and the grapes (the famous Easop’s tale) but with the Cup instead of unripe grapes I‘m not able to reach)

If it's any consolation, I'm an American in the UK who'd cheer both teams on this year, and I'm livid about the situation. It's refreshing to see your art & views paired together- keep it up!
