Charlie and Jucika (Patreon)

It’s time to make an announcement.

maybe you have figured it out but I will no longer draw Jucika’s strips.
First of all I want to say that it was a decision I took in total freedom: I didn’t have any complain or request to stop drawing her by the rights owners. I just want to move on.

Jucika was a blessing for me, she made me rediscover the joy and the fun of drawing comic strips, my first great love; drawing comic strips gave me a little bit of fame years and years ago, and thanks to them I decided to become a professional comic artist and to live thanks to my art.

Even if I care a lot of Jucika she is a character created by someone else and which I don’t control. I need to have a character fully owned by me. it’s not a recent need, I’m trying to find a good character for more than a year, until this summer when I created Charlie. Now I’m ready to face this change and I hope you want to do it with me too. Charlie has a great potential and I think you won be disappointed by her and me.

I will keep drawing Jucika from time to time, maybe illustrations and pinup of her or commissioned strips, if you want me to draw them. But for the strips there will be only one main character: Charlie.
I will keep also some sidekick of Jucika strips and why not she could be featured as a guest character in my Charlie’s strips.

I hope you will understand my reasons!
