What the Duck 4 - Eight days later (Patreon)

this is a different way to approach my What the Duck comic. Together with the classic strips, i will do some one shot panels form time to time, when i have to say something about some hot topic that came to my attention.

A bit of backstory for this one.

The founder of the largest Italian party, to defend his son accused of rape, said that it is strange that the rape victim reported it eight days later and not immediately. For this reason it should not be rape, because otherwise she would have reported it immediately.

Rape is a crime which is very hardly reported to police by the victims. Sometimes victims of rape unconsciously remove all the memories about for a self defense instinct, because they want to forget, because they live with the attacker or because they have to collect all the force and courage to report it. Yes, because in these circumstances, the victims of sexual assaults have often to take the blame of being raped, because they agreed with the attacker, or they were drunk, or they were dressed in a certain way.

To face all this is not simple and a rape report can need a lot of time before it could be done. For these reasons italian law allows that the rape reports can be done within a year since the date of the rape. And anyway there is someone that still tell that a delayed report is not trustable. And even worse it's a very important public figure to tell that, destroying all the efforts to improve our consciousness about these things.

With this comic I found a neat way to tell him he's a moron.

This happened some days after i posted the Jucika's strip about catcalling and it took some times to draw something mildly polite :D
