I could not give you my two cents about the debate of the week, the restyling of Lola Bunny and the issue of her sexualization.

I'm not against characters' restyling a priori and to be honest i usually like the most recent style trends in western animation, for example i loved the new Duck Tales style and i would have nothing to say if Lola Bunny restyling was only made on this purpose. What i don't agree is the reason behind this restyling, because the old Lola was too much sexualized.
I'm not a big fan of Space Jam, i was 16 when it was released and i'm not even a NBA fan, so my attention for this movie was very low back then and I saw it for the first time many years later, so i'm not emotionally bound by it. I can understand that many of those who were young teens saw Lola the way i saw Jessica Rabbit, then in a sequel or a remake of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" i would complain if they changed Jessica.
The point in this case is: ok, Lola Rabbit was drawn as a very sexy chearleader, but she is a tough girl, and the way she's drawn is functional to define her. She's hot, but it's not a doll, like a lot of basketball players in the real world.
By the way i don't think that this restyling has reached its goal, she's still a pretty rabbit and she can be sexualized, as you can see in the second drawing. Next time they should try to draw a realistic bunny who plays basketball (and maybe someone in the world could find it still sexy!)
By the way, doing that restyling for that reason they're implying that you can't be (very) good looking and also a good player. It seems to me another attempt to erase sensuality and sexuality, the same way social media do.
