i made this too late, when i'm already posted the Videl drawing. It seems i'm recalling the first manga i have read. Unfortunately, this time because i made this Ayikawa Madoka fanart as a tribute to her creator, Matsumoto Izumi who passed away a week ago. The news reached us yesterday and i feel the need to spend some minutes of my day for him.
Madoka is for sure a character well sculpted in the minds of those who were born in the eighties, together with Lum and Kyoko Otonashi (these three characters are my top 3 crushes from manga and anime). Speaking of Madoka, i prefer the manga version to the one of the anime, drawn by Takada Akemi, and i feel thankful to Matsumoto Izumi because in the early nineties Kimagure Orange Road was one of the first published manga in italy and i discover with it a brand new way to make comics and tell a story. Not battles, not super heroes, no comic strips or adventures, but almost normal life, with romance, a hint of sexy and a bit of fantastic. Recalling all this i think i was lucky to have this introduction to manga and that's why i feel the need to say thank you to a great author like Matsumoto Izumi.
And unfortunately also a goodbye.
