Last month I was afraid I wouldn't have much to tell unlike September, but it's amazing how things happen and so we have things to tell this month too!

Welcome to this new monthly recap for everyone of what's been happening this month on Patreon, I'm Jade, and with a few traces of Halloween still around me I'll be leading you through this fantastical month of October!

Let's start with the most obvious and featured thing this entire month: Halloween, but also a series of art challenges centered around this month. The most important of all is Inktober.

Although Albo didn't want to start a challenge this year, he ended up creating one of his own with Playwiz witches!

You can see some of them here. This was not a challenge thought of beforehand and Albo drew them when he could and felt like it. He hasn't finished publishing them yet and he says he would like to draw a couple more because he still has some ideas in mind!

Another thing that happened in the last few weeks was the conclusion of a work on a coloring comic book, a comic book on paper that has just been published and that you can find in preview again today and tomorrow at Lucca Comics & Games 2024, for those who are around there! This is the new "Deficients & Dragons" comic book a parody of fantasy adventures, written by Bigio and drawn by Emanuele Tonini. Albo has always been the colorist and this time he drew a variant cover, sexy, of course. This is his cover art:

Halloween has been the running theme of these weeks, and as a result we have also had a lot of exclusive content on this theme, but also themed Charlie strips, featuring someone we met last month, Betsy Braddock. I am posting the strip here, partly because it is completely free of nudity.

The strip has also a very hot sequel, an exclusive content for the subscribers. Why haven't subscribed yet?

This month it's all a bit Halloween-themed, even the bad news. In the past few days Teri Garr, an American actress whom many will remember as Inga in Young Frankenstein, died. I love that movie, I see it again and again, and I know many of the lines by heart (in Italian, which is very rare, since I don't like Italian dubbing in general. They did a great job with that movie, though). Teri Garr in that film is phenomenal, very good, and she makes the film even better with her performance.

I know that an actress is not the characters she plays, but probably if I had not seen Young Frankenstein I would never have met her or wondered who she was. So I decided to remember her by drawing a frame from that movie, a scene with Gene Wilder.

Well that's all for this month. Before I leave you i have something to tell you, if you use Patreon from the app on iOS:

from November gradually all subscriptions you have made (including this one, if you have made it from the app) will be considered as in-app purchases by Apple and therefore will be charged 30% more. Existing subscriptions won’t be affected by this fee. I want to emphasize that this is an iOS-only issue and is not a price increase that is up to Albo or Patreon.

There is a way not to have this price increase: you have to do all your subscriptions using Patreon from your browser, or from an Android device, whatever it is. That way the transaction is between you and Patreon and Apple doesn't add its obnoxious surcharge to it.

See you here at the end of the month, of before if you join my page! Have a good time from me (Jade) and Albo!

Hi Jade! Can you tell Albo we really appreciate all his work? Also, only new subscriptions will have the additional fee. Current subscriptions will not have a higher price! (At least that’s what the Patreon FAQ says about this issue!)

Jade, your reporting is as great as ever. What a fantastic month of art from Albo, all the scary witches and tasty treats. 😁 The Terri Garr drawing is phenomenal! It’s one of my favorite films as well, and after I heard about her passing I gave it another honorary watch. She was one of the last living cast members, and she’ll be missed for her many roles through the years.
