aight so last night after coming back from the hospital I started color blocking and figuring out the light source. For the last couple of months I've been trying to make everything super interesting, like pose, light, color, etc etc. and continously fail and waste time on it so I decided that I'd rather focus on something more interesting and well executed than all of it cuz honestly my abilities aren't just there yet.

Now, rendering the blue lady has always been a massive pain in the ass. The reason I don't use the classic BnW then color workflow it's cuz getting the color armony right that way just doesn't work the same. I like to have my palettes ready before each drawing so that's why Blue Lady here has always been more or less the same shades of color. I'll post some examples of what I don't like color wise for her on the discord.

I really like to keep the purple blue contrast as a reference to og CE cortana and I think the H4 Cortana with the sniper color play was a nice exercise for that however the warm reddish purples weren't working on this one since the shadows are bigger and tells ya more about the shape than previous pieces (i forgot to save the wip from when it was redder last night) so it looked more like a red lady with blue lights rather than a red lady with warm shadows.

I'm kinda going for an stylized cell shading with some painterly feel so it also doesn't look like yer classic big bool anime girl on twitter but it's not quite there yet. I do think the second image has better lighting and blends nicely, but another problem with this particular shade of blue is how easy it can overexpose so finding a balance between a nice highlight tone and extreme white is tricky.

As usual any feedback is welcome and let me know what ya think!

PS: There will only be 3 variants this time which are the nude version, bunny version and infinites suit version. Doing a shitton of variants is not really sustainable but we already knew that xd

Some really fantastic progress here, I love how vibrant the first version is. I definitely agree, keeping the variants down to a handful is much more sustainable on your end. I think you nailed the anatomy, especially around the waist, she looks fantastic. I definitely prefer the first one for the more purple shading, it contrasts well with the more greenish teal. Really fantastic work overall.

the main issue with the first one being too warm is that when you cover it with the bunny suit there's barely any blue. I'll continue messing with the colors once the final values are done. Thanks
