Major book updates: HARVEY is now on its first round of submissions to editors, and I couldn't be happier!!! I'm super excited to see where my lil' sous chef bro ends up!

Maybe even MORE excitingly (and this is because I am a Jed Evangelist), I just got the green light to pursue tinkering and fiddling and fixing up JED THE UNDEAD: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER for a round of subs in summer (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I was initially supposed to go on sub in Autumn for Jed, but what with my exciting tumor adventure recovery going so well, I feel (and luckily have scheduling time + health for) good enough to go forward with bumping up subs on my demon kid(s) to summer. Which, IMO, is a perfectly fun season to go on sub with a YA dark comedy! (Note: The diagram above contains a terrible omission: Jed and Freddy are 15, not 14, midway through JtU:BFFs, and BFFs ends when they're 16 - please throw this back at me at Comic Con ten years from now)

And, of course, here's a very important SOULBOUND update (keep this between us, *dramatic stage shhhh*):

- I'm happy to report that the publisher who was interested in SOULBOUND was indeed Dark Horse (!!!),

- Unfortunately, though SOULBOUND made it all the way to committee (with extra special thanks to editor Jenny for providing AMAZING edit advice and helping to shape the pitch to, pun intended, pitch perfection!) - they couldn't agree on the signature art style, so they had to pass or, if the art is significantly changed, they would bring it back up again. Comics, amirite?

- And so, SOULBOUND will be redrawn with my favorite collaborator, my girlfriend and comics genius Jay Bussiere, as background artist! I'm suuuuuper excited to combine Jay's heavy metal gothic backgrounds with my action-packed punk rock high fantasy (and, let me just say, those pages are looking BRVTAL AS HVLL). Let's hope version 2.0 hits the right spot!

Wooo! COMICS!!! <insert Metalocalypse headbanging gif here>
